These Hummingbirds are dancing around each other in a graceful sparing match to get nectar from the flowers. I wanted to create movement and texture which reflects that motion. I also created a flower pattern to layer the Hummingbirds onto. I have hummingbirds all over the yard. They are fierce and are always fencing with each other and also with the squirrels that try to get into their feeders! The colors are sometimes iridescent which makes them so exciting to draw....I am not intimidated by color.
